We love team work here at Kukri and that's what we are loving about 'Juno UK' - the Lancashire based race car design and manufacturing company.
They were out in Abu Dhabi at the Gulf Sport Radical Series races and much interest surrounded the Kukri backed newcomers and their driver - Porsche Carrera Cup GB and BRDC Rising Star Tom Bradshaw.
The 20 year old from Blackburn upset the form book by topping all of the practice sessions, but missed out on the coveted pole position by 8/100ths of second. All was well until an out of control driver smashed into the back of the Juno in race 1 - sending both the Juno and Tom out.
But as we know here at Kukri, team spirit conquers all and the Juno team sprung into action to repair the damage at break neck speed. After three laps Tom was back moving up the order to within 16 seconds of the leaders.
Then the Juno showed its true potential despite badly graining tyres, to record the fastest lap of the race. Soon Tom moved into the lead with a move around the outside of race leader Bob George - perilously close to the pitwall that had everybody gasping for breath.
Tom cruised to take a dominant victory that just two hours before had seemed so unlikely. It was real triumph for the teamwork and dedication of the Juno team.
Juno UK Manager, Simon Laughlin, said "From the bitter disappointment of Race 1, this is the perfect tonic. The car performed well and Tom drove superbly, a great result for Juno. This highlights the potential of this car to the drivers and teams out here. The local drivers and teams had better watch out as Juno plan more outings in the Gulf Radical Cup later in the season inspired by some Kukri Team spirit!"
